Spent a day wandering Coney Island with a few friends. Had a chance to play with a little color and see how it works. The sparcity of people made it seem somewhat post apocalyptic in a few of the photos. No one around to enjoy rides always feels slightly strange.
I am fully aware that this is nearly two months past but these are some fun photos and it was a great time to run around the streets of Brooklyn all night watching people enjoy themselves. Many expressed concern over the violence that occured during J'Ouvert. However, it's important to recognize that most of the celebrants did just that, celebrate and enjoy themselves. It's also fun to look back on this night as I see how many things i could have done differently from a photographic perspective for better or even more dramatic results. For the first time covering/documenting a parade I'm glad it was this one. Anyway, these are long overdue and I hope you enjoy them.
